In October 2024, we were in Uganda and saw with our own eyes the difficult conditions under which many families live there. Simple huts made of mud, wood or corrugated iron lack everything: protection from rain, heat and storms, but also basic sanitary facilities and safe living space for children. In Uganda, many families live in simple huts made of mud, wood or corrugated iron. These offer neither protection from rain and wind nor a safe environment for children. There is a lack of toilets, clean water and a solid roof over their heads. Children in particular are at risk due to the unhygienic conditions and unsafe living conditions. Illness, lack of education and fear characterize their everyday lives.

 

Our association "Hands of Mercy of Saron e. V." is involved in the project "Houses instead of huts" is committed to changing this. Together with local partners, we want to build 20 stable, weatherproof and safe houses in Uganda - for families in great need.
